Yes, for those who are non-government employees the Social Security System (SSS) offers an Early Renewal of Salary Loan. This would be a great help to every member of SSS especially those living or which the place of work is in the following affected areas of the Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng:

Please read the following information for your reference:
•Availment Period
: From 30 September 2009 to 31 December 2009
•All other terms and conditions of the existing salary loan program shall remain in force and in effect:
Amount
: One-month/two-month loan but not to exceed P24,000
Interest Rate
: 10% per annum; 1st year interest deducted in advance
Service Fee
: 1% of loan
Penalty
: 1% per month on loan remittance not remitted on due date
Repayment Term
: 2 years
Eligibility Requirements
•For a one-month loan, the member-borrower must have 36 posted contributions prior to the month of filing of application
•For a two-month loan, the member-borrower must have 72 posted monthly contributions prior to the month of filing of application.
•If the member-borrower is employed, his employer must be updated in contributions and loan remittances.
•The member-borrower must be updated/current in the payment of his obligations in his other member loans, which include educational, calamity, emergency, stock investment, MADE and housing loans granted under the Unified Housing Loan Program (UHLP) or direct from SSS.
•The member-borrower has not been granted final benefit (total permanent disability, retirement and death).
•The member-borrower must not be more than sixty-five (65) years of age at the time of application.
•The member-borrower has not been disqualified due to fraud committed against the SSS.
